             Saturday 1
st and Sunday we spent the two days with Ann.  Monday we left to drive north to L’Ametella De Mar, a long day's journey.  Tuesday and Wednesday we continued driving north into France and east across southern France to Aix-en- Provence.  Thursday was a shorter drive to Parc des Maurettes, near Golf Juan where our cousin and her family live.  We visited Cousin Evelyn, her daughter Beatrice and her granddaughter Melissa in the evening.  Friday we again visited Evelyn.
 
            Saturday 8
th we took a rest day.  Sunday our travels took us into Italy to camp at Bobbie.  Monday was spent en route for Venice where we camped on the waterfront, with an electrical hook up.  Half of this area was for camping the other half was a car park.  Tuesday and Thursday  Mervyn visited the buildings in Venice.  Wednesday  we both visited Venice to take a boat trip out to Burano, the island with the coloured houses, we also visited some other islands.  Friday we drove south to Ravenna, visiting a church at Pomposa on the way.

            Saturday 15
th Mervyn spent the day in Ravenna, Howard relaxed.  Sunday morning we drove into Ravenna for Mervyn to complete his sight seeing.  We drove on to Bologna in the afternoon.  Monday morning Mervyn went into Bologna and returned for lunch and a relaxed afternoon.  Tuesday involved a trip to  the Ferrari museum and on to Verona, in very heavy showers.  Wednesday we drove through the Brenner pass on the Europabrucke, to Innsbruck, Austria.  Thursday involved a short drive to Zell-am-See where we visited Howard’s friends at the Hotel Eder.  Friday in the afternoon Howard’s friend Walter came to see us and drove us up the mountain opposite Zell for a superb view of the See with Zell beyond.

            Saturday 22
nd took us into Germany and across to Fussel where we camped.  Sunday morning Mervyn visited the castles and then we drove to camp at Aalen.  Monday we turned northwest across Germany and into Luxemburg to camp on the western border with Belgium.  Tuesday we continued the drive west through Belgium and into France to a camp near Bergues.  In the morning Mervyn drove as usual completing 305km then Howard took over for the final 45km.   Wednesday we left early for Calais, visited Dunkirk twice, following a missed turning,  and caught the booked boat at 1130.  So ends the first part of our tour.
